Part 1: London

So we arrived in London after flying all night, and needless to say we were exhausted. Unfortunately there was little time to waste. We went right out and saw everything w
e could, and while the weather was generally pleasant, at times it was a little cooler than ideal. When we were there, there were riots going on on the outskirts of the city within
a half mile of the hostel we were staying in. Fortunately we never had to deal with the riots (although Scooter wanted to participate). Other than that nothing significant happened, we saw the sights and had a generally enjoyable time with out English speaking counterparts.

Part 2: Brussels

Scooter loved Brussels. It had a really chill vibe as a city, and there was a lot of fun to be had. To keep this post brief and PG - rated, here are some facts about Brussels:

1. Go see Le Grand Place

2. Go see Atomium

3. Get fries and mayo at Friteland and tell them that Scooter and Jesse sent you.

4. Don't drink two boot-fuls of Belgian beer.

5. Also, as you can see in the picture if they are doing construction on their monuments they just hang a picture in front of the construction to trick you. We weren't tricked for long.

Part 3: Amsterdam

So everyone rides bikes. And they will hit you if you are not careful, although the Dutch are very adept at avoiding what I though would be sure crashes. Unfortunately for us, Amsterdam was the place where our exhaustion hit us hardest. That and the fact the weather was terrible really beat us up. We had a lot of fun, but it was wholesome fun. Which most people don't expect from Amsterdam. Also, Scooter tried to eat liverworst and he hated it. It was pretty funny to watch. Oh yeah and he convinced me to go to a comedy show...put on by Americans.

Part 4: Rome

Rome was my favorite city on the trip, and while Scooter got a little testy (he wanted to go camping sooner) I am very happy we stayed longer than originally planned. We saw pretty much everything and made some friends, a German brother and sister - Marcel and Eva. Rome is a beautiful city and it was great to finally get into great weather after getting rained on up in the north. Oh, and I got kicked out of the Vatican - score one for this guy. Now that we had seen the cities, it was time to turn to nature and head up the Italian coast for some camping and hiking.
